I wanted to go to the fabric store in Fillmore. I was impressed! They had a lot of cute finished quilts on display and a lot of nice quality fabric for a decent price. I would definitely shop here instead of Joann's. I purchased a baby panel and pink chevron flannel for the back. My friend is having her first baby girl soon and so this will be hers. I chose a multi colored thread for the top, wish I had light pink but it turned out cute!
This quilt gave me a couple huge problems. I thought I was a pro by now, but noooo, not quite yet. First of all, the laser on the machine came loose and I did not notice it until I was finished with a whole row! Oh well, I refused to pick it, it is staying.
Then, I looked at the back of the quilt that was finished, rolled on the bar and I wanted to cry.
I had to unpick it! Luckily it was real loose and easy to get to. It still took a long time and I was ready to donate this to charity and start over. BUT, I did it, I picked it, requilted it and this will be going to my friend. Hope she loves it. This took 3 hours.
